Question 1969 Mustang Coupe Wipers?

so my wipers on my 69 coupe come up and hit the trim at the top of the windshield. i buy new wipers for 69-70 mustang from dallasmustang.com, i put them on and they do the same thing...why are they hitting, are the arms wrong, trim wrong?

I don't think it would matter. No matter where you "park" the wipers they are always going to follow the same path. If you mean shorten the arms, then that is impossible. You can only adjust where they park (how far they stop from the bottom of the windshield).

the arms are 14 1/8" from the tip to the hinge. Is this correct?

Go with a shorter wiper blade.

Ok, here is what I found out about the arms. ALL years 66-70 had the same size wiper arms-4 3/4 inches. The only difference is that from 66 to mid 68 they were stainless with a polished finish, then from mid 68 to 70 they had a more natural brushed finish. About the wiper blades, from 65 to 68 were 15" long and from 69-70 they were 16" long. They might have sent you the 71-73 wiper blades which were 18" long. Measure the wiper blades, it seems that they are the problem.
