Default Holley electric choke

Hi all
I'm trying to tune the electric choke on my Holley a bit better. It comes on ok but dosn't close enough to actually draw more vacuum. I read a article that said take out the limit pins and turn the hot spring case further round, did this. Now it runs swet when cold but dosn't open the choke butterfly fully when hot, not sure if the little bit closed will hurt performance. Are there any other tricks to getting these right or is that just the way they are??
Thanks

Dedicated full 12v feed from a replay off the battery. No issue there...
