Default 1972 Mustang Mach 1 standard interior swap. Can I install deluxe interior door panels

I have a 72 Mach 1 that has the standard interior door panels and would like to install the deluxe panels. However, I can't get the door handles on when I put the panels on. Is there a special bracket needed?

Default Deluxe panel

The interior door handle. When I put the deluxe panels on I can't mount the door handles. They just won't fit without some kind of adapter. The original panels were the standard ones and have a different door handle.

Default door handles

I have the deluxe door handles and when I put the new panel on there is not enough clearance for the handles to mount and still clear the panel. I checked those two web sites and there is nothing in there about any other hardware... I guess I will just have to make some brackets.

Thanks for trying to help.

no problem man, but where is it binding on the new panel??I know on the new door cup you have to trim the panel to clear the new cup and the handle goes on last with 1 large screw/bolt(1/4" I think)

Where is the hang up? On mine it was catching on the screw that holds the plastic cup around the handle. I replaced it with a flatter screw and tightened it a little more and all was good. You shouldn't have to fabricate a custom bracket for it.
