Default Tips for installing a starter on a 68 289

My starter is starting to go out so im going to replace it. I was just wondering if there is anything i need to be cautious about or do while replaceing it. Any help is greatly appriciated.

Its pretty easy and straight forward. Just make sure you disconnect the positive side of the battery as a safety precaution.
I would disconnect the cable to your starter before you remove the (2) bolts holding the starter in. Total job should take no more than fifteen minutes.

When disconnecting the battery take the NEGATIVE cable off first. If you touch your wrench to anything it won't arc. If you take off the positive cable first and touch any metal part of the car e.g. the apron or battery hold down then you have completed a circut. Lots of sparks result. Good luck!
