Default Lifter tick 1966 mustang

I have an annoying lifter tick in my 1966 mustang 289 4+4.
What are some good solutions to stop this madness.

1st start by using the old long screw driver from your ear to the top of your valve cover and listen for the tapping. It could be an exhaust leak that sounds like a bad lifter. If you don't heard any unusual noises from the valve cover, check your header bolts to make sure they adid not come loose....as they usually will.
