Sorry I didn't see this earlier - I have a "house brand" turbo type triple chamber muffler - they are a little quieter than Flowmasters (I think).

If it was me, I would be careful what you put on a six cylinder for exhaust. Some of the combinations that I have heard are not real desirable. I would certainly check with a good muffler shop that has some experience with inline sixes. I've heard a couple that really sound good with a cam and modded engine.

2 1/4 " with H crossover and 60 Series Flowmasters have worked great on my 302! I can hear the stereo once I hit 4th gear!
