Default Best Place for Parts?

Where is the best place to get parts from? I am new to the States and Mustangs and only know of Pep Boys at the moment which Im not amazingly impressed with.

I might be purchasing some hydraulic lifters/ pushrods/ roller-rockers.

Any pointers would be useful, especially regarding quality.
thanks!

There are lots of places, but it depends on what you are looking for.

I find some good bargains on some pretty hard to find items on eBay motors.

I find many excellent and hard to find parts at the local salvage yards for cheap ("junkyards", "auto wrecking" (or recycling),"boneyards" in the phone directories). The fun part is removing them yourself as it gives you additional experience and you don't have to worry about the "donor" car.

The lower prices where I live are found at Advance Auto. I also use Murrays, and Autozone. Try Autozone's web site for great repair information and guides ("www.autozone.com").

Good luck and welcome to the states...Kaylah

I would never use Auto Zone if I were you unless you're buying something little like oil. But if you need like parts, go to Advance Auto Parts or NAPA. Auto Zone couldn't find their butt with both hands when it comes to parts.

Twister, not all of us have local Stang shops. I mean, I do, but it's a 5.0 and 4.6 shop. When I say 67 they act like they didn't know Mustangs were made back then. And Advance Auto Parts and NAPA can get you what you need even if it is specific to years.

I buy almost all my Mustang parts from either Mustang's Unlimited catalog, Mustangs Plus catalog, or from Auto Zone, depending of course on what the part is. Also JcWhitney has decent stuff sometimes. A lot of the stuff in their catalog is straight up junk, but for stuff like brake drums, wheel cylinders, etc, it is pretty good and definitely the lowest priced stuff.
