Default 1968 Mustang i6, idle linkage question

Hi Im wondering if anyone can help me out, I have a 1968 mustang with an inline 6 in it. The engine has been idling fast because the previous owner welded an arm from this linkage (see picture) and now it is at the wrong angle and I cant seem to fix it. Does anyone know the exact name for this part or where I could find a new one. I have looked everywhere and cant even find anything close.

Thanks for the help

Default 1968 Mustang i6, idle linkage question

Hello bwalak,
First and foremost...welcome ot the forums.
I also say welcome from "Meffa" (Medford, MA).

I am pretty certain the part in question is called a
"Bellcrank". Yesterday I posted a picture for a person with a
V-8 so this picture is not exactly like yours but it for an automatic tranni.

Just looking at the part. it looks pretty close and it may not be the reason for the high idle.

If possible could you post a few more pictures of the whole linkage so we could see a bit more?

Also as a new member of this forum not certain if you know about places like
Mustangs Unlimited out of Connecticut
Dallas Mustangs
NPD

There are a lot of places that specialize in mustangs and they have free catalogs upon request. They are great reading.

Let's see is we can help a bit further with a few more pix's. The one you posted was great........but maybe give us a little more to see. Print Dad

Hello bwalak,
I don't think that part is your problem.
It looks like it is pretty good.
I am thinking more of the other linkage or return springs,
That is why I suggest a picture of more of the linkage.

Just my opinion..... Print Dad
