Some fuel pumps, by design, allow the base portion that contains the ports to be rotated to suit your placement needs. The ports on all of the designs should indicate the inlet and outlet. If you need to attach hose to a threaded port, all that you need is an adaptor fitting which some pumps have included. If not, the fitting is pretty easy to find at an auto parts store.
The fuel line on the 66 follows the brake line down the drive shaft tunnel. The routing was changed to just inside the driver's side rocker panel about mid model year 67. If you need to know the routing and placement of chassis components and fuel and brake lines, get a copy of the factory chassis assembly manual from a Mustang resto vendor for about $20. Each model year has it's own set of assembly manuals. There's a separate manual to cover the body, engine, electrical, interior and weld/sealant. The detailed diagrams and drawings will help you to eliminate the guess work. It did for me. |
