Default 1969 Mustang 6cyl to V8 swap plus brakes

I bought a project car for my son and I. It is a 1969 Mustang coupe. It had a straight 6 and manual transmission. I wanted to put a 302 or 351C in it (have not decided which one yet plus it will be his first car so I am leaning towards a 302). I want to upgrade the brakes to front disc. First, does anyone know what suspension upgrades I will need to make for the small block conversion? What would be a good Transmission to put behind the powerplant? Do I need a special conversion kit to mount the motor or do mount brackets line up?
I was looking at the SSBC A121P-M. The car has origional 4 wheel drum Manual and I wish to convert it to power brakes as well. The question here is what do you think of SSBC and should I just go 4 wheel disc or front only? Any other help would be greatly appreciated.
Dave

Dave,

The 69 Mustangs with Drum Brakes, 6 cylinder, and V8, all used a C6OA Front Spindle.

These Spindles on there Right now will accept, BOLT ON, the 4 Piston Disc Brakes all 67 Mustangs had, yes all 390 cars, all 428 Shelbys used these same Spindles/Brakes.

11 19/64" Rotor!, 4 Pistons per Caliper, Again All Bolt on as FORD Did on the assembly line, and 14" 69 Disc Brake wheels will fit.

The Booster/Master can be added Factory Style, Correct Style, All will bolt up by adding the Factory Mustang Style Pedal.

You didn't mention which 6 cyl the car was originally. If it was the 200 (T code) then you will need to upgrade the front springs to handle the extra weight of ANY 8 cyl.

If the car was the 250 (L code) then the front springs are already the same as was used with the 302 (F code) engine from the factory. A 351 would need the springs changed though.

Hopefully a 1969 convertible or Sportsroof (non Mach or Boss) for next Mustang project

Trying to find my father's 1973 Mustang Grande he bought brand new. 3F04F126773 last known registration and title was in New Jersey, 1982.

To do this you need the motor mount brackets then the motor mounts too look up lakewood they make oem looking mounts that are stiffer. On the tranny depends if you want a auto or stick and which one.A auto a c4 will do but a aod will give you a overdrive.A stick a t5 is nice its 5 speed and overdrive. If the car is 4 lug you need to change the rear end 5 lug you don't.Good luck let us know how it turns out.
