I take it you removed the dist. and wires? Recheck your TDC timing and wire order to the plugs. Also make sure you hooked all the dist. electrical wires back up and vacuum lines correctly.

A car needs 3 things to start, Air Fuel Spark. Start ruling them out and it is then easier to diagnose. I'm sure you are getting air, and fuel is easy enough to check. Spark is most likely your problem, and Jonk is dead on by checking your TDC #1 and getting your firing order correct.

Hello mustangmishap,
Jink 67 is right on. Most likely a spark issue.

One other suggestion is to pull the #1 plug wire and pull back the boot.
Hold the wire with insullated pliers about a 1/4 of an inch from the exhaust manifold.

have someone crank the motor. You should see a spark jump if the electrical system is working. That doesn't mean the spark is in time...it just means you can rule out things like a coil not hooked up right. Etc.

The most common cause would be dizzy in wrong or the cap wired wrong.
