Question Which Fan Blade is better

Im wondering if a 6 blade fan is better at keeping engine cooler than a 5 blade fan? I recently installed a all new 289 engine but keeps overheating I have about 500 miles on it and planing to flush the radiator and give it a oil change. The radiator is a new heavy duty 3 row and I added a electrical fan in the front. I have a after market thin 6 blade fan that thinking of removing.

Is their anything else that can try to keep it from getting so hot?
the engine is modified with a high cam.

Stock fan with the proper radiator shroud will cool almost any car.

Put a fan shroud on it like mustang dave says and you will see a considerable difference. Also, try the water treatment "water wetter". I used on my 66 289 I rebuilt because it to got hot as well. It made a difference.

Make sure your heat is not a result of improper timing.

sounds like you have other problems. Who did the rebuild and how much over?

I have a 289 also and was having over heating problems. Put an aluminum rad and black majic electrical fan and problem went away even on 100 degree days stays at 180. I also run the water wetter and like it.
