Default Need to find fuel/temp guages for 67 convertible

I think both my fuel and temp guages are bad. The shop manual says that they are replaced as a set, and neither one is working. does anyone know of a source? I've cruised all over the net, and can't find anything but after-market performance guages. I want a replacement for the originals.

You say the manual says they are replaced as a set. Are you reffering to the large guage to the right of the speedometer that is commonly the fuel/alternator gauge ?

Ebay is full of used original gauges. I have several my self that i have acumulated. Once in a while you will find and NOS gauge (New Old Stock) but you will pay and extremely high dollar for it. But there are plenty of used ones on ebay. Also, many mustang parts houses (such as CJ Pony parts sell replacements for the original. They are repos that are replacements that look, fit, connect, and work just like the original in addition to selling the aftermarket gauges.

Default What Rick says -

Rick is right - you can find these gauges easily on ebay -
For the money, I would take my chances on some of these - a lot of the new electronic replacement stuff is junk (and not really cheap)

I bought a complete instrument panel pretty cheap on ebay six months ago - I took the gauges out of the panel, cleaned them up, and they look like new - I just had to get a new instrument bezel.

RFMustang, on '67's, the Fuel Guage is to the left of the Speedometer and the Temp Guage is all the way to the right. They are sepparate guages. The Oil Pressure and Alt Guages are in the large pod to the right of the Speedometer on '67's, unless you have a Factory Tach. In this case, you'd get idiot lights instead and the Oil Sender is different.

I'd try doing a search for testing guages in this forum. You may have sender problems and the guages could be fine. The Temp Sender on 289's is located on top of the intake manifold and is easy/cheap to replace. The Fuel Tank Sender is a little more difficult to replace. I've never replaced one. I'm not sure if you can get at it from under the car, or if you have to drain & pull the fuel tank out.
