Default 66 with a 302 from a 82 5.0?

i know that this was a very good year for the 302's and was wondering if it would be a nice 302 for my 66 mustang. As of right now my stang has a straight six with the 9" rear and a c4 trans, so now that you got an idea on what i have to work with ill leave some questions that i would love to have answered thx a bunch for any input and feedback!

stats of the 302 i want:
302 wit hipo 4 bbl carb shorty headers(80k mils)(would only pay $400 for it, sounds like a steal)

questions:
1.How hard would it be to drop in? pretty sure i just change the motor mounts?

2.Would it run right with my trany?

3.any other things i should worry about?

Well it will drop in with motor mounts, it will bolt up to C4 and rear end...89s and up are better as they have forged pistons, you will need serious upgrades to your suspension and brakes

Do a search for "C4 bellhousing" in this forum and you'll find some info regarding the difference between the V8 C4 and the straight-six C4. Apparently the internal components are quite different (However, I don't know this for a fact)

When you're sure that all the components fit and are suitable for each other, make sure that the oilpan and sump will fit your steering assy. Also make sure you get the flywheel with the engine, although this is pretty much a given.

Good luck!
