Default 1965 289 swap to Mallory Unilite problem

Can I use stock points coil? Installed w/ballast resistor...cuts out on acceleration. Bypass resistor...no cut-out. Book says this will burn coil. Does that refer to car w/electronic ignition? Resistor from local parts store.

Angry Thanks for NOTHING

Thanks for nothing, guys. I found the answers I needed elsewhere....so I advise anyone reading this, if you need advice...don't waste your time waiting on these losers. After 2 weeks, I had 0 response to my post.
