Default Narrowed Rearend

Im looking for a new rear housing and i saw that you can get a fab9 housing and get it narrowed down so you can fit wider tires. (Total Control Products) Is there any problems that come along with the shorter rear that i should be worried about? Is there anyone that has one out there? How do you like it? Thanks

Call TCP and talk to them. They will be able to answer all your questions. you want wider tires, but how wide? 10 in, 12in, 15in??
they all bring their own special issues with them. Just as an example,10in may rub a little but 15in will require you to tub out the back and rebuild the suspension. Talk to the pro's and they will help you with questions you didn't even know you had.

I thought the pros are all on here??? J/K I have I6 motor and all the suspension that comes along with it and im swapping everything out, so now im looking at rearends and that came across my mind, figure i have to buy on anywase. im not going for the 15" wide tire but just maybe the 10. Will the 10" rub the inner wall? is it worth it?

any mod that increases the strength and reliability is worth it to me.but it depends on how much money you are willing to spend. I said it one and I'll say it a 1000 times. START WITH A PLAN. before a single bolt is turned, you should know where you want to end up.

I'm not sure about your cars wheel well size. So that means that you will have to crawl under there and take some measurements.don't always rely this forum for the easy answers. DIY is the fun part of working on cars.

you are right fiveo, i was just curios if anyone out there had one and how they like it, but seems like no one done it yet in here. i have an 66 mustang and they advertise on TCP and Currie that u can narrow it 2inchs, so i was thinking i can go 10in in the rear with out cutting.

I would think that would be a safe bet. 10's would also look great on a 66. you may need to do a mini tub if you go wider. My buddy had a 65, 289 car, YEARS AGO. and my memory is failing me as to how much room is in there. good luck
