Default 1968 mustang seat belt location

I bought a 1968 mustang coupe and previous owner put in new carpet but did not install seat belts or cut the holes for them I really don't want to remove the carpet to find them I think I can find the middle holes from the under side of car but where does the other side go? If someone could send a picture of it I could most likely find it with a ice pick.Thanks.

To find the holes for my screws I went under the car, found the mounting points, then rammed a philips head screw driver through. Then I made the hole bigger so that the bolt would fit. As for the outside ones, they are a couple inches behind the seat riser. You should be able to feel the hole through the carpet, as I was able to.

Look inside the transmission tunnel for the buckle side bolt holes, they have a rectangular reinforcement plate with the nut welded in the center. Use jack stands to get under the car or on ramps with wheels chocked, parking brake, in park.
They look like this:

Here's the bolts, be sure to use the proper grade:

Another Idea from the internet:

After you locate the holes with a punch (or small phillips), "Cut" the holes with an el-cheapo soldering iron

(worked great for me .... for all the screw holes and seatbelt bolt holes)
