Default Period correct Tachometer

I have been looking for a Tacho for my old horse that would look period correct. I am sure they were used in the day.
A Rally Pack is way out of my budget.
Could anyone recomend a make or model or have a picture of one.

Hello. The Sun super tach and super II were popular, and, still are with the hot rod people.

These two autometer tachs have classic style and 2897 is very old school. Auto Meter
And here is a mini tach: Auto Meter

I think the Auto Meter 2897 would look quite at home perched on my steering column.
Seems to be a big difference in price between them & the Sunpro range.
I see they all seem to go to 8000 RPM now. I wouldn't see much needle movement.

Hi again. Yup, the Autometer tachs are more affordable than the Sun. There are also the old Stewart/Warner tachs, like the Cobras came with. Also, there are these, which are pretty cool.

Im using the super tach 2. Looks good mounted on the steering column. I fabbed up a bracket to mount it and mount my little xm radio. It looks kind of like the rally pack except its a xm radio instead of a clock. It looks really good and if your not looking for it u wont even notice its there.

Hi again. You do understand that it's a serious breach of etiquette to use anything other than a big, ugly hose clamp to attach a tach to a steering a column, don't you?

For the money, I like this one. Old school short sweep. You can't co wrong with Auto Meter (still U.S. made)

Hi again. The moon eyes are cool. Those are more often used on hot rods like a T-bucket or a deuce or something, but, it would be cool in a Mustang, also.

Yeh, shame you can't get a 6000RPM one. There's not going to be a lot of needle movement in my old horse.
