Default Front Race Apron for 1965 Mustang

Does anyone know where I can find an inexpensive (under $150) fiberglass front apron for my 1965 mustang, like the ones off of gt350s without the bumper. I know there's a lot of you out there that know where the deals are so I figured this would be the place to ask.

I have always been treated well by kevin at Laurel Mountain Mustang. I got mine for my 68 there.

They have competitive prices and back what they sell. Its like anything else, you need to shop it. When you compare, makes sure you consider shipping costs. if you find one a few dollars less, you may be paying more becuase of shipping.

You can also call Duane at Kentucky mustang. just make sure you ask to speak with Duane. Everyone else there never seems to be much help. Duane owns the place and treat you right.

I'll bett you also go with billit aluminum grill set (upper and lower). i got mine on ebay. Priced right and looks even nicer. The prices are all over so make sure you shop this. i got mine form some guys on west coats about 1/3rd less of what everone else wanted. Call them and they will deal.

Default front race apron

Mustangs Plus in Stockton. I put an R model front on mine and the difference in cooling was amazing! However, if you are going to race it, make some kind of screen and paint it black because your radiator is WIDE open to debris. I found this out the hard way and aluminum rads are expensive!

Thats good to know I like the honeycomb look of the original grill so maybe i could mimic that on the lower half as well....

Check the laws for your state about having a front bumper. Here in Florida you must have a front bumper, but it usually isn't enforced. All that it takes is one officer who's having a bad day to ruin yours, though.

Hey buddy down the highway, can you post a few shots of your front bumper, grill, and valance on this thread, I would like to get some ideas, and yours sounds like that I am looking for.

Pig, I had just removed the hood and front grill out on sunday to do some work on the engine. But, here is a couple of shots I just took of the fiberglass front apron (valance) with the small billit grille I put in it.

The sun was at my back so it does not show up as good as it does in person

The upper billit grille is same style as the lower.
