Default 1968 Ford Mustang Rear End

I have 1968 ford mustang. I planned on find ford 9 inche rear end. I plan on do some drag race on that car. what rear end spline i should use? 31 or 29? i got 302 on C4 transmission. hopefully during the winter to get the engine done with 331 stroker

If I had a choice, the 31 spline. That's if you're going to really hook up with slicks. If you're going to use a street tire, the 28s should survive. At least they have on my 9". I've got a 5.0 and C4. Both are non-stock and I'm not gentle with it, either. I think that the 28 spline axles are tougher than they get credit for, but having 31s would be nice insurance.

Yea thanks for ur suggestion. for now i think ill go with 28 for the starter.

For the gears. how could u know if u have the right gear u want in your car for drag? Im so curious how do u figure out for the gears you want?
