Hi everyone!
We are in the process of restoring my '70
stang. I have the original build sheet for the car and we have found all of the id tags on the car. The codes all match the codes on the build sheet. I also have the buck tag. I can figure out what some of the codes on the tags mean but some of it I can't find anything to help me decode them. Can anyone help me decode them?
The engine tag reads:
302 C 70 7
9-G E? K280 A
(I know 302 stands for the engine size and the K280 A is the engine number. Can't tell for sure of it is E or something else. The tag is scuffed in that area)
The transmission tag reads:
PEE AC1
D0ZPB H7 B
(PEE AC is the transmission number)
The differential tag reads:
WCZ-V 9H B
2 79 8 930A
(The tag is scuffed on the part where "H" is or it could be a 4.)
The buck tag reads:
0F01F****** 65A T 193
BA
RM
(I know what everything on the buck tags says except the 193 & the 2's. I can't find that anywhere on the internet. There is also two "2" stamped on the tag one is upside down and the other is side ways. They are off to the side and middle of the tag away from the other codes. I don't think that means anything)
Can anyone help me decode these? Since the numbers match and all the tags are there...this makes this a matching code car right? I hope someone can help me with this! Also do these 302 engines have the partial VIN number stamped somewhere on the engine block? I haven't found that yet as the engine is pretty grimy with grease. Thanks so much!!!
