Default 1967 mustang front drums and rear end swap

Hi All,
I have a 1967 mustang coupe with a straight six. I know i would like to swap it to a V8 but dont have the money to do it in one swoop. For now I can afford to swap front drums and rear end. Can someone tell me if i can run a staight six with manual tranny with a V-8 rear end and 5 lug front drums? I will upgrade teh spindles with the front drums. Also can i use the same drive line? Are there any other issues other than just unbolt, rebolt and hook up brake lines? Thanx all.

You should have no problem using the V8 drive line with using your inline 6 set up.

Don't forget about the 8.8 rear end when deciding back there. you can get a disc to disc factory traction lock rear for $150 at pullapart all you gotta do is weld on spring perches. out of a 96-2001 explorer btw

I think he is also saying, and I agree, that rather than spending money on a front drum setup you may as well put that money toward a front disc conversion. but as I understand it the 65 and 66 spindles are different for the 6 to 8 setup. the 67 and up have the same spindles.

Well i sourced out a set of 5 lug drum assemblies for relatively cheap $50. what the hell, an afternoon of wrenching and a bottle of brake fluid will have me knowing if it will fit or not. Wish all trial and error research was this cheap.

dgt1972-----Great Insight, Attitude.

Yes, Go Stock, Correct Braking, not Elaborate, Pieced together Brakes.

AND, Yes, the 67 - 6 Cylinder Spindles will infact accept the 5 Bolt Drum Hardware.

Strip the 5 bolt "Stuff" off the donor, Proceed to installing on you "6 Cylinder" Spindles---Hell they are the same!

67's ALL were C6OA Spindles, No Difference, and as mccance has stated, you can install the 4 Piston Per Caliper K/H System (Exactly as Assembly Line 67 Mustangs with 428) on those same spindles---I GUARANTEE!!@!!---Have you hear that before???

65/66 WERE Different for those readers.
