Question 1966 Mustang fuel sending unit gasket not seating properly

I am currently trying to replace my fuel sending unit, I purchased the unit from Scott Drake and the gasket will not seat properly, so I keep getting a leak, should i purchase a new gasket or should i drop the tank to line it up? 1966 I-6

If you use a new gasket with a little O-ring grease or vaseline it will go on easier and wont leak. Also make sure the gas tank flange is clean and smooth so it does not grab and bind as the sender is tightened up.

Good Luck and BE Safe
