Default 1968 Mustang Coupe: Running Horse Emblem Replace

This is easy and yet dumb:

The 289 running horse emblem on the passenger's side either fell off or was stolen (it was loose, but some guy drove past me at the parts store and screamed F#$# you, #%#hole! for some reason, so anything is possible). I need to replace it, but I've noticed the retaining clips are weak, which is probably why it came off.

I think I need barrel clips, but there are small, medium and large ones. So a) are these the clips I need to replace the emblem and b) what size is the right size for these holes. Also c) any advice I might need to know about doing this would be appreciated.

Thanks again!

Doc

Are you the new owner of this Mustang? Maybe the previous owner pissed that guy off!

Have you checked with your Mustang supply house to see if the emblem already comes with the required barrels? When I bought new trunk letters for my car, the required barrels came with them.

Dunno what was wrong with the guy. He wasn't driving a bad car, so I've got no idea.

In any case, I'm looking at picking up an original off of eBay so I still need to know what size clips I need. I suppose I could buy four of each, but that seems like a waste to me.

Any thoughts?

I don't know what to tell you. I know that replacements come with them. When I put new fender emblems and scripts on my car they all came with the barrel nuts. Check Mustangs Unlimited's website. I have looked at the clips on their website before and in the descriptions it said what they were used for.
