Default 1967 Mustang, 289 Harmonic Balancer

67 289, 4v, factor A/C, front power disc, power steering, air pump. I just replaced my cracked timing chain cover. I've reinstalled the balancer. I'm not sure if it's all the way on the crank. I lined up the slot to the crank, torqued to 95 ft.lbs, but the pulleys seem to be a small fraction off. The timing pointer tip is only 1/2 across the balancer. I seem to remember it all the way across. Any body remember how far the pointer extends across the balancer?

Did you replace it the timing chain cover with an original cast pointer or a bolt on pointer type cover ?

Yes, it's the original pointer. It bolts onto the new cover in the same place with a very small screw and the lower right cover bolt. With 95 ft. lbs of torque on the damper bolt, I would think the damper has to be seated. I'm putting the alternator and power steering pump on now to see if I may be too critical of the very small amount of off set.
