Question Rearend for a 68 coupe

Just got ahold of a 68 coupe. It is a V-8 car but some one has swapped out the rearend for a 4-bolt. What will interchange?

A 68 Cougar will have the same rear as your Mustang. Or you could call Currie Interprise

I know your pain........
I'm going through the same thing with my 68'
It was probably a straight 6 and some where along the line the v8 was put in, but who ever the lazy a55 was didn't finish what they started.
I agree, another 68stang or cougar is ideal if your going for ORIGINAL. But I guess it all depends on what you got around you. I've learned that a Granada 75-79 is a great doner car for the rear and even the front disk brakes. There's a few sites that give a good break down of how to do this conversion.
But there's one thing that has cought me off gaurd on the rear, the drive shaft! Check the u joint size front and rear. Mine had these real small u joints and I haven't been able to match them to the rear end. I'm now in search of a proper DS.
Well it's good to see I'm not the only one cleaning up others half done work. Good luck, I wish you the best.

Hye you can buy special u joints to work for your drive shaft issue... or you can have it cut and a new yoke welded on.. but as long as the size isnt too differnt you can get u joint that is big on one side and small on the othe... dont know what the call them but i had to do that with mine..
