If you want 300 rwhp, then I think that corresponds to maybe 350 horsepower at the flywheel. I can't give you a specific recipe to make 350 horsepower because the 302 I built has probably 100 less horsepower, but if I was going to go that route, I'd definitely do the crane roller cam retrofit kit and aluminum heads. I like the design of the TFS twisted wedge heads, but I don't own a pair so I can't vouch for them. You don't have to do anything major with the bottom end, just a stock rebuild with some quality main bolts like ARP or Milodon. Probably want something like 10:1 compression and a healthy roller cam and then top it off with a Edelbrock performer RPM or maybe victor junior, unless you go the fuel injected conversion route, in which case you'd want to go with GT-40 upper and lower and 25 pound injectors.
Or, just slap a supercharger on it.
