i need a 4 speed manual transmission for my 65 fastback. if there is anyone out there please let me know. i need the clutch assembley and the drvie shaft most likely too. and im not sure but will that bolt up to a 1974 302?

You need a legendary 'top loader.' Reknown for the ability to withstand much horsepower and not break.

You'd be much netter off trying to find a later model 5spd IMHO.

unless you want to dishout about 800 bucks just for a tranny. search the junk yards mayb eyou will find one cheap if you have good scrounging technics

We were using EXPERT scrounging technics 25 years ago looking for those old top loaders!

They are about as extinct as a T-Rex.

The last one I had my greasy mitts on I traded for a Chevy 327 4 bolt main motor that went into a '41 Chevy pickup.

They're not so hard to find, you just have to search for them. rodbender who use to come to this place(and should be back soon if I can get his computer runnin) has like 2 Toploaders sittin in his garage and I think his brother has a few as well.
