Hi, newbie Mustang guy (and new to this site) here. I have a 65 fastback and a Lincoln Versailles 9" rear with disk brakes that I want to install. Which front disk brakes will work best with the Lincoln disk brake rear end? The original style disk brakes with dual pistons or the Granada single piston set up? My fastback is the run of the mill with no options other than the 289 and auto, so I want to update the performance & handling and not worry about it being a correct car. Anybody out there willing to comment about their experience with this setup? Or any known pros and cons on either setup? Any suggestions on the master brake cylinder for either combo would also be appreciated! Thanks in advance if you have experience with this update and are willing to share what you have learned with someone who is trying to do this for the first time.
Use the Versailles master cylinder, (someone else will have to chime in on
the distribution block). If you are running the Styled Steels, you will need
the dual piston ('67 and earlier) setup. The Granada fronts require a '68
or later wheel.

Thanks for your feedback on the master cyl. I assume that would work fine using the Granada front disk set up with the Lincoln rear. Do you know if the Granada brakes rattle over every bump due to the floating caliper design like my 76 Olds cutlass did?
If the parts are not worn out, it should be ok. My first car was a '77 vista
cruiser. As I've said before, the best chevys are oldsmobiles.

I bought a nice pair of disks on eBay. The seeler said they came off a 68 Cougar. I don't know about the different style made. But, these work great. I still have the 64 1/2 single master cylinder. Guess I better change that. But, these discs sure have been good.
Sounds like the Granda front disks will work much better than my current drum brakes. Does anyone know if the stock 65 disk brakes have 10" rotors or are they 11" like the Granada ones. Anyone read any articles that actualy tested the disks to prove how much better they are? I have read that you need to use the Granada tie rod ends when you do this swap. Any one able to confirm this?
I'm using the 4 piston style on my 67, the best thing about the swap is they will bolt to your orig spindles to use the granada or 68 and later brakes you must change spindles and tie rod ends.
I think some of the best disc kits for vintage Mustangs are Baer 13" kits. These have 13" rotors all the way around and I know the front uses 2 piston PBR's, not sure what rear calipers are. If you can run a 17" wheel, then you are all set. I have used a similar Baer setup on a 95' GT and the stopping power is amazing! Never would have expected that from just brakes! This allows me to drive faster and stop better! These brakes will blow away Granada, stock, or Versailles! Just an idea, since it does require the bigger wheels
