My 64 1/2 needs a new Auto transmission. Does anyone know the best place to get it cheap? (It's the 289 V8, June 17, 1964)

Hello.You should be able to have yours rebuilt for something in the 600 dollar range.That,or buying another one,is something that you would definitely want to do locally.Transmissions are pretty heavy.The shipping would more than eat up any savings you might be able to find on the price.Hope that helps.

are you looking for one of the same build time? i might be able to sell you my auto tranny. its out of a 65 fastback built it sept. of 65. give me your email ill tell you more about it. currently its still in the car and it shifts pretty nicely.

Just to make sure you know Greg, You're looking for a C4 and you probably have a 5-Bolt bellhousing.

Would be cool to put an AOD in there, much cooler and better gas mileage! Not that hard of a swap either, and most AOD are relatively cheap and very plentiful!
