Default stripped hub fix?

on the front hub of my drum brake car the hole that the wheel stud goes into is stripped. the stud goes in and sits fine but the knurl is gone and i was wondering if anyone had had this problem? i was thinkin on putting it in and then brazing it from the back but not sure if it'll hold when i torque the nuts on. i've tried spot weld mig'ing them but they don't stay in very well. i really don't wanna hafta get a new hub grrr. the one store i went to said they don't make oversized knurls? i thought this was odd and was jsut wondering if anyone had idea's? thanks its a 68 drum brake car

i dont think it is a "hub" it is on the drum itself correct. if you weld it you might have to worry about balancing issues. now from what i can understand your saying the hole that the wheel stud goes into is stripped. why not get a new drum? or if that is out of the question try filling the hole. or find another stud the same size and thread type but bigger fitting take a dremmel and remove what has to be cut out to make it fit.i say order new front drums bc if the holes are stripping out then they are probably pretty old.

no its a pain lol it is the hub the drum has no studs in it. the hub has the wheel bearings in it and is held in place by a large nut and cotter pin. it has knurled holes in it that mate up with the knurled wheel studs. i was thinkin on laying a braze around the inside of the hole and them tapping the stud in? dunno if it would be strong enough tho. and don't wanna screw the hole up if u have bette ideas? gonna see if they have studs with larger knurls tomorrow at parts source before i screw around with the brazing lol. thanks, more ideas? i only have the 2 lol they should have the larger knurls eh? got a bit of sleep and thought about it hehe

lol new drum . um if you braze and hammer the sutd in it will probably brake the braze off . what about using lead? fill the entire hole with metal a mahcineshop should be able todo this. then redrill the hole. or take it to a machine shop and ask them what they think. they might use that method. good luck
