i currently have a 65 ford mustang with a 200 ci single barrel autolite carb. i have bought 2 rebuilds and there all crap l would like to replace the carb with a 2 bbl. is that possible? if so, what carb would bolt right up if at all or would i need to have to have a carb adapter plate and again, what carb would work best with it??

The autolite carb is probably the best choice for a stock 200 CI motor. Ford engineers knew what they were doing. Rebuilds have to be adjusted for the motor, which means at least a partial dissembly. Since a rebuild kit is so cheap and rebuilding is so easy, best to do it yourself and avoid someone else's mistakes altogether.

I consider a carb rebuild an essential routine job, about every third tune up.

Buy a kit, read the instructions and spend an hour to do it right.
