Default Tremec 3650 Fitment

I am wondering if anyone has ever tried to fit a tremec 3650 in their classic mustang. I have a 67 fastback currrently with a carbed 5.0L motor in it. I have a t-5 which i was going to put in the car, however need to rebuild it, and i jsut found a great deal on a tremec 3650. I know that the 3650 is designed for late model mustangs, however since the t-5 will fit i was wondering if the 3650 will fit. thank you in advance for your help.

The 3650 found in mid-'01 and later GT's won't work for you. The 3650 only comes in a 4.6 bell housing bolt pattern, and the bell housing is not removable. You'll want to find a T5, T45, TKO, or 3550.

What about an adapter plate? What about 3650 off a pre-01 Mustang?

I'm pretty sure no one makes an adapter plate. And the pre-'01's came with T45's, not 3650's. The mid-'01 and later GT's were the first usage of the 3650. It's just not going to work man, sorry.
