Default Need advise on buying a lift?

I need to buy a lift for working on my cars as well as storing them. My wife decided we needed a bigger house which is resulting in a smaller garage. The garage is 11 feet tall so I have plenty of height. I have looked at Back Yard Buddy, Super lift, Top Lift, and Direct Lift. I am leaning toward Direct Lift because of price and it comes standard with features I want. I have heard indirectly that I shouldn't buy a lift manufactured outside of the USA which I think Direct Lift is. I have friends that have bought Back Yard Buddy and while they are happy with the lift they are not happy with the long delays in delivery of the product. Any thougts, experiences would be appreciated.

I think lifts are overkill in most cases. You hurt your neck lookin upwards. Just get some jack stands and a jack, there you go. It's conventional and works well. Just get a nice creeper and roll on under there. Plus you're saving a load of money.

I don't have any info on lifts but they are nice as we get a "little" older and don't like lying on concrete . My neighbor has a nice one he picked up from local muffler shop that went out of business. Remember, we're talking about your (and others) life under that lift so don't compromise safety over price. Get you the best one you can afford......and get off that floor

Good luck
