1970 302/2v Petronix 1 w/flamethrower coil timing and plug gap info

Hey all,
Just installed the PETRONIX 1 and associated coil in my stock 1970 302/2V, new cap, rotor and plug wires as well, getting ready to install new plugs and time. Any experiences/suggestions with what works best? I've searched some and it seems that I can widen the gap and alter the timing from stock...Thanks for the help!

Hello. I played around with every possible configuration of that set-up on a 260 2bbl over a period of about 8 years, and what I came up with was the spark plug gap at about 35 and the timing at 10 degrees BTDC. That was about as good as it got. I now have points in the car instead of the pertronix, but, I have still have the coil, and still run it with plugs at 35 and the timing at 10.

Thanks for the reply V. After posting I looked at the instructions mo better and saw where Petronix recommend an additional .005 which would put me at .040 from factory. Checked the timing and a 6 BTDC (factory) seems to be running fine, no more hot hard starting either!
