Default Power steering pump question

Hi I am a new poster here and I was hoping someone here can help me with a question. I own a 66 mustang. The power steering pump on it needs to be replaced. I bought a new one and brought it to a garage where I have all my work done. The guy working on my car called me up and had me come over to look at the pumps. The pump on the car right now had the little return hose on the bottom of it pointing down. The new one points up. I went back to where I bought it and they said that is the pump for a 66 mustang with a v-8 and air. I called around to a few other places and the hoses all point up. So why does this one point down? Does anyone know where I can find another one that points down?

I'm not really sure what the situation is, but when they go tellin you that you're wrong, just slap them in the face with your old pump and say "THIS is a 66 pump". Anyway, your best bet is to go to somewhere like www.mustangsplus.com or www.mustangsunlimited.com and get one from them. Make sure you ask them where it's point at before you buy it, but you'll have better luck with someone who specializes in classic Stang's than your local Auto Zone.

If you, by some random chance, are located anywhere near Seattle, WA, I know an actual honest-to-God Mustangs only store here that you could talk to a real person face-to-face about it...

I live in Wisconsin so that would be quite a drive for me.
