Default 1966 mustang front suspension issues with 2005 gt wheels

so i spent this weekend getting a set of bullitt wheels yo fit my 66 coupe they look awesome but i had to hack up my upper a arm to get them to clear, the issue isnt the tire rubbing but the rims inner lip running right on the upper arm outter lip, would a drop spindle cure this or ive heard using grenada spindles could help this out to any one got any ideas? i dont wanna have to chop up my suspension like ive already done, or is it just not possible to get these wheels to work i am currently running a 1.25" adapter in the front but needed another 1/4 inch spacer even after all the surgurey to the a arm and i just recently added power disc brakes with 4 piston calipers from ssbc which i dont really wanna lose, i have a serious headache going round and round with trying to get this to work any help would be appreciated
