that's definitaly a 302/289. it's a pretty pisspoor car altogether, and I wouldn't give 500 for it much less 10,000. It's a shame that people are that morally deficiant that they have no quams about passing something like that off as a "good buy". I guess this is just the way of the world these days.
Hello. That's a 351 Cleveland sitting in it.Look at where the thermostat housing bolts on.The 68 1/2 cobrajet cars had reinforcement on the shock towers, which this car doesn't.No 68 1/2 cobrajet came with a 3 speed manual, which this car has. That also looks like a hood scoop for the 69 model cobrajet cars. The 68 1/2 scoops were a lot rougher, almost hand made.I would be interested in seeing the vin stampings on the car itself. It looks like the dash tag is the only thing about that car that's off of a 68 1/2 cobra jet.I think that I'd have to pass on that one.Hope that helps.
Hi again. That is a Cleveland block. All 289/302s and 351 Windsors have the thermostat housing on the front of the intake manifold. The 351 Cleveland is the only block that has the thermostat housing sticking straight up out of the front of the block. The heads are not Cleveland heads, but the block is definitely a Cleveland. The heads look like some 72 or 73 351 2bbl heads but I'm not sure.
Hi again.I went back and looked at the picture again.Duuuuuuh!! That is indeed the distributor hole.I was quite wrong.Hate it when that happens. Sorry about that.Apparantly I was experiencing a senior rehearsal. But,it's still a 3 speed with the wrong scoop and no shock tower reinforcement and I'd still have to pass on that one.
