Question a couple questions

I just bought my first car and, it just happens to be a 65 two door with
a 200ci. inline 6 .

1. Is it possible to switch out my 1bbl carb to a 4 bbl?
2. What weight oil should i use for southern cali?
3. Does anyone know where i can get a replacement fuse panel?
4. Is there a performance diffrence between "H" & "X" pipes?
5. Besides headers/exhaust what else can i do to add ponies to my pony?

thanks in advance

A 4bbl on a six??? Don't think so. But I am sure you can get a better than stock carb.

How many miles on engine? that will make a difference

3. Does anyone know where i can get a replacement fuse panel?

Don't know

1) Put in a V8.
2) Electric ignition is easy and under $100 http://www.pertronix.com/
3) Nitro

www.fordsix.com has some good ideas on how to build good 6's they have different buildups and estimated power output pretty cool. i thought i had seen a 2 or 4bbl intake for a ford 6 at a swap meet, but i don't have one anymore so i just glanced at it. i know alot of people are hardcore v8 fans but the 200 six i had in my 70 maverick was killer it wouldn't die, cheap on gas and good power. good luck

definitely check out fordsix.com lots of great info there. also check out fordsixparts.com they have a bunch of performance parts for inline sixes.

i have a 2 bbl weber carb on my 68 200ci. there's an adaptor you can buy from Clifford Performance in Temecula. i've never heard of a 4bbl on a 6. some people modify the built in intake to accept 3 1bbl carbs. it sounds like a big job and hard to keep tuned from what i hear, but looks pretty cool. also there is talk of custom aluminum heads being made, i think both fordsixparts.comand clifford have mentioned some designs on that. that may be the best way to improve the performance of these engine but i don't think the heads are for sale yet.
