Default real mach1???

I just bought a 69 mach 1 and it has all the graphics and the interior is all mach1 but when I ran the vin tag this is what it said:

model year: 1969
built at: Metuchen (Edison, NJ)
bodystyle: Hardtop
engine: 302 CID - 2V
consecutive #: 206223
body series: Hardtop - standard-trim bucket seats
scheduled assy.: June 03, 1969
exterior color: "New Lime"
interior trim: (Low-back seats) Charcoal Black vinyl
sales office (DSO): Newark, NJ
axle ratio: 2.79:1 "conventional"
transmission: "C-4" automatic

The one I bought has a 351w but does have the c4. Do you think that its a different tag or not a real mach1?

Hello. If the vin tag says 9T02F206223 or9T02J206223 then it is not a Mach1.The smallest motor Ford put in a Mach1 was a 351.Hope that helps.

Well the thing I noticed first is that it says that its a Hardtop. Im almost 100% sure that all Mach 1's were Fastbacks.

ok got some vague answers here. first of all, whoever thinks that a mach 1 is supposed to have a rubber bumper is a quack. they have chrome front and rear bumpers. also, is it a fastback? if so, then the tag is almost surely off of a different car. the 351w was offered with a C4, it was just rarer (i think). check the other spots where a vin is located: not sure if there's one one on the fender apron on the '69 but there is (at least on the driver's side) on the '70 and see if it matches the one on the dash. also it should have been pretty obvious as to whether it was a mach 1 or not right off the bat when you bought it if it was a hard top or not. if you're not sure what the difference between a fastback (sport roof) and hard top is, a hard top has about a 120 or 130 degree made by the rear window and the top of the car and a fastback has more of a sloping, sexy look. -eli
