Default Frame rail etc. inspection

hey!
I'm restoring a '66 Fastback. Overall seems to be in pretty good shape, but I would really like to be sure that the frame of the car can handle a pedal to the floor.
I hear a lot about frame rails and torque boxes rusting out really badly. These sound like important parts of the frame.
Can I check them properly front to back without removing the interior upholstery?
Are there other places, maybe like suspension mounts, that should be checked?
thanks

You can't make an "internal" assesment of the frame rails unless you have the floor pans off of the car by the firewall. Your only option if you don't want to dissassemble everything is look it over as best as you can looking inside, using bumper bracket holes and stuff on the outside and guess what kind of condition the inside is in.
Use a welding clamp or vise grips and go down the frame rails from the radiator support to the firewall and clamp as hard as you can without damaging the rail. This should give you a good, but not conclusive idea of the structural integrity of the metal.

At least that's how I would get a quick look at it.
