Question Torque Converter Question...

How would I know if my Torque Converter is going? What are the most common signs? Are there any simple tests I can perform to be sure?

The tests are outlined in the service manual. The only way to know for sure is to remove the converter and test it. The tests require specialized tools. Some transmission shops can perform the tests.

it depends on what you have, hardly anyone can test ford converters. I can tell by driving them. if it is a 4r70w lockup problems are usually a tell tale sign, the aod's were more prone to rattle caused by loose fins. If you get a ching, chang sound as you get on and off the throttle the fins are falling out.
