Hello all. This will be my first post but I really need some help. Background: 1965 mustang 6cyl 3speed small rearend. Doing engine, suspension, rear end and transmission swap.

To date. I have rebuilt the front suspension (with the 8cyl kit,larger brakes bigger springs) and added an 8" rearend from a 1966 289 coupe. (New leaf and shocks in the back also)

Brings me to now. I need a transmission. I am looking for a 4 speed to go behind a 302. I want a 4 speed. I know nothing and I mean nothing about transmissions and how they mount but I can turn a wrench and figure it out as I go.

I need advice on where and what to buy. I don't mind spending money for a good quality transmission because I only want to do this once. My engine will only be around 230hp and the car will not be dogged.

Any advice or guidance in the right direction would be of great help!

i actually really like my 3 speed c4. nice and wound up at 80mph
