Default how easy is it to....

in my 66' i have a a 200 6 cyl engine in it, well a while back i bought a 200 6 cyl engine from some guy off of ebay the motor is rebuilt and all of that .well when i went to install it in my car the tranny and the motor did not line up.... well any way the motor thats in my car has a 3 speed standard tranny hooked up to it and the motor that i bought came with an automatic tranny, but i really want my car to be a standard so is there any type of bell housing or anything that i can hook up to my 3 spped tranny to the new motor or would it be easier just to put the new motor in with the aumatic tranny???

(i have pictures of both engines so if anyone would like to see them and try to help me out just let me know and i will post them)

I can't really envision what you mean by not lining up? The manual and auto use different flywheels, the manual needs a crank pilot bushing in the little hole. Bellhousing bolt patterns are the same.

This swap has been done before, but if the motor is early, they changed the starter bolt pattern and a few things so this swap might not be cake, if the motor isn't the same age or newer than the older one.

Hello. The motor that you pulled out of your car was a 68 model 200 and the motor that you got off of ebay was a 78 model. That 78 automatic won't fit into your car without some modifications. What you will need to do is take the flywheel, clutch and bell housing off of your old motor and put it onto the new motor. You will also need to take that little stud out of the rear D/S of your old motor and put it onto the new one so that you can hook up your clutch pedal Z-bar.Trying to remove the pilot bushing from the old motor without damaging it probably won't work out so well for you so you might as well go ahead and get one of those also.Hope that helps.

D/S = drivers side. There is a stud there for the clutch linkage.
