Default 1965 C6AE Heads and Intake - Matching # 4v

edit....C5AE...sorry... also found that all '65 heads were c5ae..since mine were attached to 4v intake- 4v heads...where as hi-po had the machined valve base...I got ahold of a set of heads and intake- c6ae 4v- 3/8 studs and a lot of work done to them. Thinking of putting them on my sons 351 w that I'm building for him.

Theres a guy saying I'm nuts as that was the hi-po head and intake for '65 289. So I want to ck and see if I need to sell them to someone who wants a matchng # 4v out of respect rather than using them to wake up the W. I will be building my '67 cougar but will clone the proper year 390 4v. I've researched and am frustrated ...Any Info?

thanks, my 1st post here.

There is no performance to be gained using the 289 heads. They are hi-po heads but the fact is, is that the valves and ports on the hi-po heads are the same size as the normal 2v/4v heads. The 351 heads are a much better head. Larger ports and valves and a lot more performance potential. With the proper work they can flow as well as most aftermarket heads. All the hi-po heads are really good for is if you are restoring a K code and need the proper head. Hope that helps.

Hello. Are you saying that you have a set of hipo heads that you would like to sell along with the intake? If yes, I know a guy that might be interested.
