Default 1965 Chassis Max Horsepower

Ok, so I'm building up a 65 stang, origionally a 6 cyl. I was gonna go with a 302, but the voices in my head keep telling me "MORE POWER - MORE POWER", so then I wanted to go with a 351W. My engine builder says he can punch out the 351W to a 440W ! My question is, on this car, how much is too much? I was thinking somewhere around 400 rwhp would be nice. I think with a chassis this light, it would definitely need to be tubbed and the acceleration would be like . I will definitely need to do full weld-in subframe connectors. But do you think I need more reinforcement? I mean has anyone heard of these light cars like breaking in half under massive torque lol. This will be a street/strip car. Mostly street, but I would like to take it down to englishtown once in awhile and go up against my buddies 70 chevelle.

The most strenghtening I've seen in high HP early Mustang street cars has been a TCP undercar X-brace and full undercar subframe connectors. One guy is running a 563rwhp twin turbo 331, and his only problem is traction! I've got a vid where he lights em up on the freeway!

Why 440W? You can make 529fwHP out of a 408W on the street. Heck, if I get the money and ever want to make my car into more of a toy, (current built 5.0 is daily-driver smooth) I cooked up a completely streetable 512fwHP 347 recipe running on 93 octane.

Add front torque boxes.
Add subframe connectors.
Add export Brace.
Add monte carlo bar.
Add 6 point bar to help it pass tech for the time it will run.
Add good belts on roll bar to keep you safe
Add slicks (or drag radials to run slightly slower times).

Have fun, hand on.

I am hoping [fingers crossed] to cross over 500 RWHP on my 65 with my next trip to the dyno
