1968 Mustang Brake Booster Installation

I am installing a brake booster into my 1968 Coupe. I've seen people who put in a longer pedal which I'm guessing is for more leverage? I do have a manual tranny so do I need to put in the longer pedal? What does it affect?

with a longer pedal you will get better leverage and with the booster it would put you through the windshield,,,I am about to do the same thing in my "70",,,I bought a power break conversion kit,,,It came with a pedal that is the same length but, the distance between the top of the pedal where it hinges to where the the booster attachés to the pedal is shorter than stock,,giving me less leverage because I now will have Power brakes ,,it would be a good idea to change your brake pedal if you now have a pedal that was meant for a non-power brake car,,

This question is asked alot in the addition of "Power Brakes".

First question is WHAT BOOSTER?? a Stock Booster (Midland), or a aftermarket booster?

Don't know which--Did your supplier explain the application?

If a Stock booster then, yes you will need to install the longer 67 68 69 Pedal--Do not install a 70 Pedal, you will break the booster on first push.

If a Non stock booster--Hundreds out there, then you do not have to change the pedal.
