Default whats the best headers for fitment on 65 coupe with 289

Ona 1965 Mustang with 289 motor and auto tranny, who makes the best headers as far as for fitting and ease of installing, who makes them and what style of headers would they be

Tri-Y's....never even heard of anyone having a problem with them and they are a good street header. The'll help out with a bit more torque on the bottom end than will regular full lenth headers...look better too.

I second that, Tri-Y's I have them on my 67 and 65. Since you have Auto there is nothing in the way like I had with my 4speed. I can't say who the manufacture is but I purchased them from Virginia Classic Mustangs "vamustang.com". Spring for the ceramic coated headers they are about $100.00 more but you will love your self after a year when there not rusted out.

I put a set of Hooker long pipes on my 65 and they were a breeze to install. Just get the fron end up a foot or so and pass them right in from below. I agree with red65mustang though, definitely want ceramic coating.

I have a 68 coupe and i need to take my headers out of the car.....can this be done without jacking up the motor? i have been trying to get them out and it seems to be a real *****.

I like the Try-y's. Branda has them for 149 and they are also offered in nickel plated for 20.00 more.
