Default 1967 Mustang Coupe Granada Swap

Hi I have 67 Mustang Coupe, and I want to do the granada front disk swap. I like to know what exactly all the parts I need and what are the positives and negatives of doing the swap. I have 14" rims will I have to buy new rims if I do the swap? And I have heard of bump steer problems is this true? Will I have to get my car aligned after I finish the swap? And is it worth doing to my car ?I really dont have the money to get one of those really expensive conversion kits so I really appreciate all your help. EVERYONES OPINIONS ARE WELCOME!!!

Granada stuff is getting to be rare and major $$$ used. Parts are still pretty reasonable, but your basic junkyard setup needing a redo is now $200+.

www.discbrakeswap.com offers a complete, new granda setup for $550. If that's too expensive, scarebird is about $350 and will bolt up to your stock spindles, no alignment needed afterwards. Note you'll need a disc/drum MC now though.

Since you have a 67 you wont have any bumpsteer problems with the granada stuff, thats a 65-66 thing. What kind of 14" rims? Stock are the only ones that have problems. You will need an alignment.

Can I get some more information on the scarebird swap, is this swap reliable and good and what are the positives and negatives of this scrabird swap. How do this screbird system work? Would my stocked rims work on this kit? Is there any driving symptoms that could occur if I choose to install the scarebird system? What are all the parts I need to do the swap ? With all the honesty in the world if you had the choice of picking from the granada swap or the scarebird swap which would YOU pick and why? Thank you for your help!!!

Both setups are essentially piecing together miscellanous parts. The granada swap would be easier, you find a granada at your local junkyard and pull everything off of it, from tie rod ends to the calipers. The scarebird is similar, but they use other parts look at the bottom of this page to see what they use http://scarebird.com/12802/19004.html . The assumption is that you are going from an all drum setup to front disc rear drum set-up. To save yourself on the hassle, go buy a complete kit from one of the known companies. There are alot of parts you need to run front disc, especially if you want power brakes.
You can always find a decent deal from people putting sets together on ebay, likes this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Musta...13222151QQrdZ1
There are alot of sellers on there with sets similar to this.
My opinion is that if you can save the $500 to piece together a set like this, just wait and save the other $500 and order teh set from National Parts Depot (or other mustang part retailer). If you are going to do it, do it with quality parts, Your brakes are a very important part of your car.

Well I decided to go with the scarebird installation. I want to know if anyone else has done it and what they think of it. What will I need to make this conversion complete with power brakes. I know I need to get a new master cylinder and a booster, and a pedal. i have heard that you need to make a custom installation or all boosters on the firewall is this true. I also want to know everything there is about a proportianing valve and the distribution block. What exactly do I do with the proportianing valve, remember Im only doing the front disc swap. I have stocked 14* rims will this be a problem. Will I need new rims? remeber I have a 67 coupe. I need all the help I can get so thank you!!!
