Default question on 65 coupe instrument cluster and 65 pony instrument cluster

I would like to have a woodgrain instrument bezel(just like the look) and also a glove box door in woodgrain, I see at CJ Pony Parts, they offer for 1965 is a woodgrain dash bezel ,but it is different from my stock instrument dash bezel that is in car now,the speedo on my car is long and rectangular and the dash bezel at CJ'S is round and they say these are for the 65 Mustang's that came with the pony interior thats why they are different, now my question is if I get all the gauges for the 65 Pony interior woodgrain dash would this work with my wiring that I have in my car as far as instrument lights and turn signal lights and so on, not really concerned with the gauges working besides the fuel gauge (since I have aftermarket gauges for oil, water and volts) and I guess the speedo will still hook up the same .Does anyone make a woodgrain insert kit for the stock 65 dash with long rectangular speedo and glove box door, thanks Darrin

Hello. The speedo, fuel and water temp would work. The turn signal indicator lights would require some modification, since right now you only have one light that blinks on the dash and the five dial cluster has two.The ammeter gauge is wired up differently from the idiot light that you have now, also. You would need to get the instrument cluster housing from a 66.You will find this to be a pretty costly and time consuming operation just stick a piece of cheap woodgrain on the dash.If you're pretty handy with an exacto knife, you might want try just cutting something out yourself to go on the instrument bezel that you have and get the woodgrain glovebox door and maybe a center console.Hope that helps.
